They say that work doesn’t feel like work when you love what you do. I can wholeheartedly confirm the truth in that sentiment. Genesis hasn’t just been a business venture for me—it’s been a labour of love. But as seasons change, so must our paths. That said, Genesis is concluding its search activity this year, 2024.
To all those within the oil and gas community who were a part of our journey, I extend my deepest gratitude. Your camaraderie, engagement, and unwavering support were instrumental in our success. It has been an incredible honour to have had you by our side.
On a personal note, while my involvement in the energy sector continues, it has taken on a different form. A decade ago, Genesis initiated an ongoing bursary program for aspiring professionals in the energy industry. I’m thrilled now to volunteer with the University of Calgary, guiding and supporting young engineers and geoscientists in their career pursuits. I’m particularly enthusiastic about the newly established “Earth, Energy, and Environment” program, a refreshing rebranding of the Geoscience programs within the Faculty of Science. Another exciting development is the relaunch of the university’s Petroleum Engineering undergraduate degree!
